Overview

MoneyGuide is a suite of web-based Financial Planning and Retirement Planning Software that helps advisors of all sizes customize their planning services to meet the unique needs of their clients.

RBC Black is integrated with MoneyGuide to empower advisors to take advantage of its functionality.

This document is intended to explain how advisors can do the following:

  1. Manage the client experience within MoneyGuide
  2. Enable clients to be able to access MoneyGuide within the RBC Client Portal

Terminology

  • Client User - Individuals who are receiving financial planning services from an advisor. 
  • Probability of Success (PoS) - A likelihood of funding their financial goals
  • Single Sign On (Single Sign On) - Functionality which allows users to login into a system without needing to enter a password.

Advisor Experience – MoneyGuide Client Management

 

Prior to granting a client access to MoneyGuide, an advisor must configure the client’s access to MoneyGuide.

The advisor has the following capabilities:

  • Control Access
    • Deny or Allowed

    • Budget Only
    • Discovery A
    • Discovery B
    • Discovery C
    • Discovery Lab
    • Share Plan(s)
    • Snapshot
  • Control Landing Page (Share Plan(s) Template)

Manage Client Portal within MoneyGuide

From the Manage Client Portal page, advisors will be able to configure what is accessible to a client within MoneyGuide. 

 

Client Portal Accessibility in MoneyGuide:

Advisors can control if clients have access to MoneyGuide using the dropdown menu.

 



 

 

Discovery Sharing Templates:

Sharing templates are intended for gathering data about your client based on their needs. Details of which templates are available, and the purpose are listed below.

 

Client Portal Sharing Templates Overview:

Discovery A – Data-gathering template designed for prospects. Gather basic prospective personal and retirement data from this and easy-to-use template. (Estimated time to complete: less than 30 minutes.) 

Discovery B – Data-gathering template designed for most clients. Gather more detailed financial data from clients so you can start creating a Recommended Scenario within a Financial Goal Plan. (Estimated time to complete: 30 – 60 minutes.) 

Discovery C – Data-gathering template designed for high-net-worth clients. Gather advanced financial data that to allow for additional stress testing and analyzing the client’s complete financial picture. (Estimated time to complete: 30 – 75 minutes.) • Discovery Lab – Enhanced data-gathering template that provides with a guided planning experience via auto-play videos. Results-focused pages allow clients to start making improvements to their plan while facilitating the financial planning process. (Estimated time to complete: 45 minutes.)

Budget Only – Allows clients to access the Budget module and our Financial Calculators. 

Snapshot - the most popular, results-focused template. This concise and interactive template allows clients to review the Recommended Scenario, track net worth, access saved reports, and utilize interactive tools such as What Are You Afraid Of? and PlayZone®. 

Share Plan(s) - The most flexible sharing template available. This highly customizable template allows you to gather client data and share plan results. Additionally, this template allows you to set the landing page and control what you can do.


 

Landing Page:

 

The landing page dropdown enables advisors to configure what layout is shown to clients within MoneyGuide.

If access is denied, users will be prompted with the screen below within MoneyGuide.

 

 

Configuring MoneyGuide within RBC Black

 

Advisor Preferences

Once a client has been configured within MoneyGuide, the advisor can configure if MoneyGuide appears to clients within RBC Black.

Advisors can control which clients view the MoneyGuide tile within RBC Black from the Household Preferences page.

The Household Preferences page can be accessed from the Household Info tile on the Household dashboard.

 

Selecting the MoneyGuide Pro checkbox will control if clients view the MoneyGuide tile within the RBC Black Client Portal.

 

 

Investor Experience

The MoneyGuide tile in the Client Portal has three states depending on the configuration of MoneyGuide. 

The 3 states are as follows:

  1. Both SSO button and PoS score display
  2. SSO button displays only
  3. PoS score displays  only

1. Both SSO button and PoS score display

The client has the ability to view the PoS which is pulled from MoneyGuide. They also will be able to navigate to MoneyGuide using the Access MoneyGuide button.

From there, the user will view the default landing page configured.

 

2. SSO button only

Clients are able to navigate to MoneyGuide using the Access MoneyGuide button.

 

3. PoS Score only 

The client has the ability to view the PoS which is pulled from MoneyGuide.
