Performance benchmarks can be set on the Advisor Dashboard and PDF-generated Performance Reports. Advisor users can also select a preferred default benchmark. The following ETF-based benchmarks are available:

• SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust | Symbol: SPY

• Total US Stocks | Symbol: VTI

• Investment Grade Bonds | Symbol: BND

• Global Stocks | Symbol: ACWI

Every Firm Manager has access to Blended Benchmarks. Blended Benchmarks are a firm-level feature.

From the top navigation menu, select Manage > Benchmarks. At the Manage Benchmarks page, Firm Manager users will have the button the Create a new benchmark.

Advisor users will have a view-only version of this same page. The Advisor will be able to edit or delete any blended benchmark within the firm. The following are a few rules to follow when creating a blended benchmark:

• Users must name the benchmark, and the name must be unique

  • Note: Best practice is to keep benchmark names clear and concise. 

• Users will not be able to save the blend if the total does not add up to 100%

• Users will not be able to save the blend if an allocation is added without selecting a benchmark, or if a benchmark is picked without assigning an allocation

Once a user has created a blended benchmark, anyone in the firm enabled to view benchmarks will be able to:

1. View the new blended benchmark in the Manage Benchmarks table;

2. Select it as their default benchmark preference;

3. Pick it from the list of available benchmarks on the Performance dashboard tile; or

4. Pick it from the list of available benchmarks when running a Performance PDF report.

If a Firm Manager needs to edit the blended benchmark, from the Manage > Benchmarks page, click on the Edit icon to change either the name or the allocations.

Setting Default Performance Benchmark

The default Advisor preference is set to “None”. Advisor users can set the default benchmark that will display on the Advisor Dashboard and be pre-selected when generating a Performance Report.

To set the Default Performance Benchmark:

1. Login to your CircleBlack Advisor platform

2. Click the Settings “gear” icon in the upper right corner

3. Select “Advisor Preferences” from the drop down list

4. In the Performance section, select the performance benchmark. When you select, it will automatically update and save your preference.
